Hard pruning time
Since plants won’t create new fruits for the rest of the season, we want them to be as big as possible.
Pruning suckers:
Once you take the heads off, plants will grow like crazy to survive. Often, up to 12 suckers grow together at the head!!
We need to keep up with our pruning routine because those suckers will steal the energy we want for the fruits.
Pruning leaves:
We want to make sure we do not have more than 3 leaves per cluster. So every time you finish harvesting a cluster, prune out the 3 lowest leaves.
At the end, we will have only a long, nude stem, with only a cluster at the head.
With these 3 tips, we are on a good track to grow the biggest fruits possible to end the year well!
